What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an activity that entertains, amuses or diverts, usually providing an aesthetic effect. The word is generally linked to enjoyment and humour, but it may also carry serious or even moral connotations, as in the case of ceremonies or religious festivals, or be the focus of social interaction (8). It can be personalised for the individual who chooses a private entertainment from a wide range of pre-recorded products; be tailored to a banquet or party for any number of people; be staged as a competition for thousands of viewers, or broadcast to a global audience. It has evolved from activities formerly used in hunting and war to spectator sports and into modern media.
