What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an abbreviation of entertainment. You might see it shortened to entmt on a flier or in industry news publications when space is limited.

Many stories are powerful forms of entertainment. One of the most famous is the Scheherazade story from the Persian professional storytelling tradition, about a woman who saved her own life by telling stories. This story has inspired orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski; a film by Pasolini; and even an innovative video game. Stories like this have a strong entertainment value because they hit on themes that the human mind was evolved to deeply react to in order to understand the social world (8).
